Location: The subject property is 1,395.49 acres of land

located just north of Rule, along State Highway 6,

in Haskell County, Texas.

 

This area is a mixture of different types of farmland and open grassland. The soils in this area range

from neutral to slightly alkaline, calcareous sandy loams of dark brown to reddish brown color in

the western part, to clay and clay loams in the east. These soils generally support mesquite savanna

or bunchgrass, short grasses, and mesquite. Cedar, hackberry, cottonwood, chinaberry, and shin oak

trees are also found in the area.

Climate

The average annual rainfall in Haskell County is 24.14 inches and 22.36 inches in Stonewall County.

The average minimum temperature in the area in January is 30 degrees; the average maximum in

July is 99 degrees. The growing season ranges from 220 days in Stonewall County to 232 days in

Haskell County.
